Residency Program Eligibility
-
Artists and writers over 25 years of age are eligible. Residencies
are intended as creative opportunities for visual artists and writers
in all genres and mediums. Artistic merit and promise are the basis
for selections. Mature and emerging artists are encouraged to apply.
-
A rotating panel of arts professionals review applications and supporting
materials. Final awards of residencies are at the discretion of
SFAI.
-
Collaborators may be accepted for a residency; however, both need
to submit separate applications along with a joint proposal.
-
Couples who are artists or writers may apply individually with the
understanding that one partner may be accepted and the other may
not. SFAI is unable to invite spouses or partners to accompany artists
in residence under any other circumstances.
-
After two calendar years have lapsed, previous residents may re-apply
for another residency by submitting a new application with new work.
-
Pets and children are not allowed at the SFAI Residency Program.
