Facility

Santa Fe Art Institute's home is a nearly 17,000-square-foot complex located on the College of Santa Fe campus. Ricardo Legorreta, the internationally acclaimed Mexican architect known for his award-winning cultural facilities throughout the Western Hemisphere, designed Santa Fe Art Institute's new building as well as the adjacent Visual Arts Center for the College of Santa Fe.

SFAI's facility includes gallery/exhibition spaces, 5,100 square feet of studio space with skylights, housing for students/residents, a library, courtyards, laundry facilities, a full kitchen, and dining and living room areas. SFAI's facility meets all ADA requirements with complete accessibility to all studio and living spaces. Two resident rooms are equipped with bathroom facilities for wheelchair access.

This exceptional complex was made possible by a generous gift from Anne and John L. Marion and The Burnett Foundation.

Community Resources

Santa Fe is welcoming, culturally minded community with vast resources for students and residents, including art galleries, museums, libraries, and other artistic and literary organizations. SFAI's location on the College of Santa Fe campus permits easy access to the college's library facilities, among them the art and slide library in the Visual Arts Center. In Santa Fe proper, there are professional photographic services, kilns, specialists and art suppliers for all mediums, bookstores, and literary activities and resources. Pueblos, historical sites, and a wealth of cultural and recreational experiences are located within, or a short distance from, Santa Fe.
